The Freelance Linguist is responsible for translating or editing primarily medical/pharmaceutical/biology-related documentation. Translators and editors must be native speakers of the target language.
We are currently recruiting Freelance Linguists, preferably for the following language pairs:
- English/Chinese
- Chinese/English
- English/Korean
- Korean/English
Linguists with other language pairs are encouraged to apply as well.
Skills/Qualifications
- Must be a proficient native speaker of the target language
- At least 3 years professional translation experience
- Advanced degree in sciences preferred
- Subject specialist in the life sciences required
- Experience with Translation Memory tools required
- Detail-oriented, conscientious, and technically savvy

Site Editor (Acquisitions Editor)
The desire is to have this position located in Berkeley, California office; however remote locations will also be considered.
Site Editor, Online Content, will be responsible collaborating with Peachpit editorial and marketing in setting the strategic direction of Peachpit.com’s editorial content, including the topic areas of Photoshop, Flash, web design, Apple, Adobe, digital video, and other areas as needed. Site Editor will manage and grow key topic areas of our web site and implement direction by selecting, acquiring, producing, and featuring content on these sites in so that they the richest and most compelling content assets available anywhere on the Web. Focus will be in engaging Peachpit, New Riders, Adobe Press etc. existing authors to provide content for new Articles.

Studio B Productions has an ongoing need for experienced developers with excellent AJAX, HTML, and JavaScript programming skills who are interested in writing documentation for exciting new software products. Documentation must include code samples. This is most likely to be a part-time position–other writers are assisting–so talented programmer/writers looking for part-time work are encouraged to apply.
