JDS Uniphase Contract Technical Writer (Lasers) - San Jose

This position will report to the manufacturing engineering group in support of commercial laser systems (cw and Q-switched products).

The primary responsibility of the hire will be to write, edit, and document work instructions for new and existing laser systems with instructions, direction, and training from manufacturing engineers

Work with engineering to establish the most efficient (in creation time and operational execution) form for work instructions using all available tools and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Well-versed with software packages used in method creation (Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word and FrontPage, CAD, etc) and should be adept at translating work instructions to documented form (text, pictures, exploded 3-D isometric drawings, etc.).
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word and FrontPage, CAD.
• Experience in lasers/optics or mechanical engineering a plus.
