Subject: Two positions opening up

Hi Everyone,

I have at least two positions opening up in my group. The positions are going to be at Symantec’s Mountain View campus–350 Ellis Street. I haven’t done a job posting yet, but we are starting to interview. I am looking for at least one senior writer that has the abilities and desire to eventually become a manager. I have a global team of about 20 writers, which will grow by a least 5 writers (3 positions will be in Pune, India—sorry) in the near term. Writers in Mountain View will get their own offices—a perk that is fast becoming a rarity—and will work on new manuals from scratch as well as updating legacy manuals, which we also plan on entirely redoing.

My group uses uses the Vasont CMS (Content Management System) and XMetal (an XML editor). It would be nice if you had some familiarity with CMS or XML, but we will train. We are also doing a lot of exciting web work, so any web experience would be helpful. I’m basically looking for people that can function well in a team environment, that want to do new things, that are very sharp and can pick up things quickly, and that are self-motivated and can work with little direction.
